Coach mode — feedback on every move while you play

Play against a bot while a coach grades every move, explains mistakes in plain words, shows threats and hints, and lets you take back and try again.

Coach mode turns any bot game into a lesson. After each of your moves, the coach tells you how good it was and why.

What the coach does

Using feedback in normal games

You don't have to be in Coach mode. In Settings, turn on move feedback, the evaluation bar, suggestion arrows or threat arrows for any bot game — or turn them all off for a clean game.

A good way to practise

  1. Pick a bot about 100–200 points above you in Play with Coach.
  2. Play slowly. When the coach flags a mistake, read why, take it back and look for a better move.
  3. After the game, open Game Review to see the key moments.
