ChessMess is a free chess website built around one idea: the things other sites charge for should be free for everyone.
What you can do
- Play 19 bots with their own styles, from Pip (250) to Seraphine (2800), plus an adaptive bot and full-strength Stockfish. See all the bots.
- Play with Coach: every move is graded from Brilliant to Blunder and explained in plain words. Try Coach mode.
- Review every game with accuracy, move labels, an evaluation graph and key moments, as often as you like. The Game Review guide shows how.
- Play a friend by link, 6-digit code or QR code, with no account needed: invite a friend.
- Use the analysis board with up to five engine lines, PGN and FEN.
Why it can be free
Stockfish 19 runs in your own browser, so a game review costs ChessMess nothing to serve. That's why reviews and analysis have no daily limit. There are no ads during games; small banners show on some menu and reading pages, and supporters can turn them off. How ChessMess is funded has the details.
