Every daily puzzle now has its own page, with the solution
Each day's ChessMess puzzle gets a page with the position, rating, themes and solution, and the archive keeps every past day. Free, no account needed.
The daily puzzle is one position a day, the same for everyone. Until now it lived only on the puzzle board, so yesterday's puzzle was gone once the day ended. From today every day has a page of its own.
What's on each page
- The position as a board, from the side you play, with the opponent's last move marked.
- The goal: mate in 2, find the winning line, save the game, and so on.
- The puzzle's rating, its themes (fork, pin, back-rank mate…) with a short explanation of each, and the opening it came from.
- The solution in move notation, folded away so you can try first.
- A button to solve it on the board, where your puzzle rating and daily streak count.
Where to find them
The daily puzzle archive lists every day since 29 October 2026, newest first, with each puzzle's rating and goal. Today's puzzle is always at the top, and you can still solve it straight away on the daily puzzle board.
The puzzles come from the Lichess puzzle database, which is free for anyone to use (CC0). More about how puzzles work on ChessMess is in the puzzles guide.
